Q Can new companies use the services of Benchmark?
A Yes, subject to standard checks. Simply send us your current UK business bank account details and business plan.

Q How much VAT off the rental can I claim back under Contract Hire?
A For cars, half of the VAT on the cost of hiring the car and all the VAT on the service, maintenance and management element of the monthly rental. For vans, the VAT is fully recoverable, subject to normal rules. However, we recommend that you check with your own Financial Adviser for accurate VAT savings.

Q How much deposit will I have to pay?
A The standard amount is 3 months' rentals.

Q Where do you buy the vehicle from and can I use my dealer?
A Providing your dealer offers the same terms and conditions that Benchmark enjoys, this will not be a problem.

Q How do I get my vehicle serviced?
A If you have a "maintained" contract you can simply call the driver helpline for assistance in booking your vehicle in for a service. Alternatively, you can use our internet booking service. Your vehicle will be serviced and washed, prior to the dealer returning the vehicle. This service is free and is available throughout the UK mainland.

Q Is the cost of the Road Fund Licence included?
A The cost of the Road Fund Licence is covered by your monthly rental payments throughout the rental period. You will only be charged or credited if there is a change in Government legislation, which affects the cost of your Road Fund Licence.

Q What if I estimate my contractual mileage incorrectly?
A Generally, you can amend your contract at any time, providing you have a minimum of at least six monthly payments remaining.

Q What happens at the end of my contract?
A You can place a new order, extend the contract on the vehicle or just return it.

Q Can I buy the vehicle at the end of the contract?
A Yes, we can make arrangements to sell the vehicle directly to the driver.

Q What happens if my vehicle is damaged upon return?
A Your vehicle will be assessed upon return. You may be liable for the cost of any repairs that are not considered to be general wear and tear.
